You may be thinking, "what's so special about Joe?"

My fingers are fresh

I'm currently playing in the top collegiate jazz band twice a week, and gigging on weekends, and can play a variety of styles like Bossa Nova, and improvise new music on the spot.

"Unforgettable, that's what you are..."

Thanks Frank! Watch me play with Belmont University's Jazz Band One at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center on PBS in December!

I don't play loud bebop the whole night. In fact I love gorgeous intricate ballads but I can swing like a kid on a play-gym as you can see on the front page.

"Can you play Claire de Lune, too?"

My old friends are Chopin, Beethoven, and Debussy; Moonlight Sonata and Misty are possible on the same gig. And besides, I’m flexible with running overtime if your night/party/event is on a roll!

Any requests?

I probably have 50 tunes on the top of my head waiting to be asked from the jazz repertoire. Misty, Fly Me to the Moon, Over the Rainbow, My Funny Valentine, etc.

Don't forget Broadway: Sound of Music, Guys and Dolls, My Fair Lady, Phantom of the Opera.

Joe Prior studied jazz piano for two years with local Nashville pianist Bruce Dudley, and will perform his last college concert with Jazz Band One on Christmas at Belmont’s yearly nationally televised finale.

He is finishing a degree in Commercial Music, Piano and Music Technology.
